After Voldemort rose again, before she could escape him, he hit her with a spell. She didn't know what it did, but later research revealed Dolor Retractatur meant 'Pain Relived'. She believed it had failed, as the spell wasn't in any books, and she hadn't felt pain when it hit.

After returning to the Dursley's, however, she found herself reliving her worst nightmares. Every injury she'd ever suffered, every pain she'd ever been through, sped through her. Rapid injuries that healed quickly. After the first few times, she'd figured out everything she needed to know about it.

First, it hit during the new moon. She bought a Lunar Calendar to follow it. Second... the Dursleys didn't care if she was in pain, If she made noise and woke them up, they would beat her. Third... she had little time whenever a bone broke, or a joint dislocated, to reset it, or it would heal that way, and she'd have to re-break it and fix it up afterwards.

And then... there was the issue of her consciousness. She had never actually managed to make it through the whole thing without passing out. The pain was too great for her. But it lasted exactly 30 minutes. Every injury, from she was 1, to now. After 5th year, she marveled. She'd been lucky enough never to wind up in Hospital during such a time. Then she lost Sirius. The only one she felt she could tell about it, and who wouldn't just panic for her, or do something stupid... the one who had the books and family resources to find the problem and fix it.

Enter 6th year. Alya has never told anyone about the problems, but she's been more and more short tempered and reclusive lately.

ABOUT HIM/HER

PERSONALITY: Alya no longer responds to Draco's provocations, she seems, at times, to ignore the world around her, and she's started eating less. She's become more twitchy, and flinches at any form of physical contact. During Quidditch, she seems to fly less chaotically, as though she fears getting hurt, and finally began losing matches thanks to her caution.
